All through my school years I pursued anything and everything I could about art or writing. To this day, I find myself loving art and writing even more than I did before. I particularly love drawing portraits with charcoal as well as painting cartoon-like masterpieces with children and their families. I even began (and still maintain) my own small business called, "Green Country Charcoal."
I have been drawing, painting, sculpting, and writing for as long as I can remember. In fact, here's a picture of me when I was just a little girl at the sand dunes in Colorado. I specifically remember how hot that day was, but also how much fun I had getting messy in the water and sand while creating my alligator masterpiece!
I have taught art in before & after school care programs, summer camps, and as an art teacher for our local school district. I have also organized and participated in multiple art shows over the years. I also a Freelance Writer for Parents.com.
I hold a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and have 19 years of experience in the teaching field.
I firmly believe play is such an important aspect of learning for adults and kids alike. My goal is to introduce an element of art that we will focus on in each class, provide demonstration, and then allow the learner to simply learn by doing.
